BALANCE SHORT GAME

Balance Drills:

Every object or thing in motion must be balanced for it to maintain a predictable path or position. In golf, the golfer, club and ball are in motion at different speeds. We all knew as children that swinging around our body tended to cause imbalance and on many occasions we fell. We turn half circle or slightly more in golf and hence entitled to some imbalance. To play good golf, both the golfer and the swing must be balanced. The golfer’s balance is achieved by good coordination between visual cues, sensations from the inner ears, muscles and joints. You maintain a balanced swing by a good rhythm and a tempo which is about 20% less than your maximum. If you stand on your left leg, bend forwards at your hips and stretch out your right hand forwards, your right leg backwards, for ten seconds at a time, as in the picture below, the leg would have been trained on balance.
