Strength Drills:
To play golf and enjoy it, one needs to have some physical strength. The most effective way to do this is to strengthen the muscles used to play golf. These are called golf muscles. Included in these muscles are leg muscles (hamstrings), thigh muscles (quads), buttocks, spine and belly muscles (latter being abdominals or abs) and torso muscles. The others are the arm, forearms and hand muscles. If these muscles are exercised in a patterned manner, they are strengthened and playing golf becomes easier.
If you lie down on the carpet of your living room, clasping both hands behind your head and raising it up while at the same time you alternate straightening your right and left legs, known as the bicycle exercise, you would have strengthened your belly muscles. See the pictures below.
